MARQUETRY
Exquisitely detailed Marquetry may be designed to incorporate family crests or as a unique work-of-art centrepiece or feature piece or selected patterns and designs of floral art, grape vines or equally intricate work may be chosen to create a unique presentation of your floors, whether as border work or as central feature pieces.
MEDALLIONS and CORONETS
Medallions and Coronets can be designed to accommodate the most exquisite art work. Whether elliptical, circular or designed to “fit” unique spaces, we are pleased to work with you to create a work-of-art to grace your home or office. Medallions and coronets may be created using timber or stone. Stone medallions and coronets set into timber floors can be very appealing.
BORDERS
Border work may be simple or very complex depending on the ambience one
is trying to create. The most elementary of borders are still designed to
create a “Frame” around the “Picture” of the central floor.
Simple borders usually range from a combination of fine 9 or 19
mm Inlaid Feature Ribbons of a contrasting colour to the floor. These may be
separated by either a single block or board or contrasting patterns may be
formed between these bands of definition.
Complex borders usually involve the framing of a more elementary field of floor with an ornate pattern, with or without the embellishment of stone, brass or other inclusions. Due to the varied nature of borders, all border work is usually costed independently of the floor.
